Magento: price handling successfully customized

The standard mechanism for price calculation is a core part of the Magento e-store platform. So most specialists would say to stay away from tweaking it, even if there is a business case for making adjustments. But when duty calls, we answer!

Prices on our client's online store were not consistent with the prices used in their accounting software, which is why we were asked to help. So we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.

It took a while to make progress, but just when we thought we had hit a wall, we made the key breakthrough! Now that the method for storing and calculating prices in Magento had been changed, the prices on the online store were the same as the prices in the client's accounting software. Calculations in the shopping cart, at checkout as well as in the backend were changed to match. Careful testing showed no defects in implementation. Mission accomplished – another one-of-a-kind custom job under our belt.
